Perhaps He Stood On A Chair

Old and in the Way : 11/4/73

During
a terrible argument,
a Chinese wife
bit off her
husband's nose.
The wife's lawyer
defended her
by suggesting
the man bit off
his own nose.
How could that be,
the prosecution demanded;
the nose is
above the mouth,
much too high
to bite off.
Perhaps,
the defense argued,
he stood on a chair.
